3 Crowns Technologies are a global provider of environmental monitoring solutions. Using real-time environmental monitoring, video management and analytics solutions, organisations can remotely gather and analyse environmental data about beaches, waterways, wildlife and public spaces. With 3 Crowns Technologies’ software in place, government, community groups and private enterprises can make better environmental decisions and create a better tomorrow.
The combination of organisational acquisitions and a decade-old business presented several challenges to 3 Crown Technologies’ long-term growth. Their significant hardware footprint comprised of multiple devices approaching end-of-life. Likewise, the existing hardware-centric infrastructure architecture hindered scalability, makin
g it difficult to onboard new sites on-demand. In addition, 3 Crown Technologies’ software requires real-time connectivity between CCTV cameras at 300 remote sites and their datacentre - so migrating to new architecture with minimal disruption was essential. Finally, these always on, latency intolerant workloads needed to be seamlessly integrated into any new solution.
“A clear benefit from working with Fastrack is having more heads on our problem – having experts that we can call on”.
- Russel Holt, General Manager, 3 Crowns Technologies
3 Crowns Technologies desired to move to a smart, modular, lightweight infrastructure with the ability to virtualise and scale when required. They reached out to Fastrack, seeking a reliable, full-service partner who could support their integration, connectivity, datacentre and virtualisation requirements. They were also eager to shift from a CAPEX to an OPEX operations model so they could better predict the costs associated with onboarding new customers.
Fastrack’s professional services team designed and deployed a fully virtualised solution, combined with a full suite of managed services including Managed Networks, Managed Security, hosting, cloud and site integrations with world-class, enterprise-grade internet connectivity.
As an ISP and MSP, Fastrack were uniquely capable of consolidating 3 Crown Technologies’ infrastructure. The new design reduced their hardware footprint, provided significant savings and facilitated adoption of modern connectivity solutions.
Impact
Once the new architecture has been deployed, the impact to 3 Crowns Technology will be significant. The underlying cloud and connectivity solution provides a more resilient, scalable and flexible platform for future growth. Fastrack's solution will reduce 3 Crowns Technologies’ time to onboard new customers and the associated costs. Once completed, the solution design also allows 3 Crowns Technologies to consolidate their NBN connections – used to connect remote CCTV – to a single provider for simplified vendor management.
3 Crowns Technology found a cultural match and trusted partner in Fastrack, with genuine personal connections.
“The pace at which the Fastrack team came to address the challenges at hand was really impressive comparatively to other companies”.
- Russel Holt, General Manager, 3 Crowns Technologies
