How to make outbound calls with Microsoft Teams Voice.

Written by Eren Ercan | October 15, 2020

The outbound call is the most common feature you'll wield in Microsoft Teams Voice. Outbound calls are calls to a landline or mobile phone number using the Microsoft Teams Voice interface. Unlike Microsoft Teams calls to your colleagues, you can't search for a name or number (unless you have already saved the number to your contacts), you'll need to need to manually type in the number into the 'calls' interface.

A guide to making outbound calls with Microsoft Teams Voice

Making outbound calls using Microsoft Teams Voice is simple. See the video below.

As seen in the video above, you can make an outbound call in Microsoft Teams Voice by following the below steps.

  1. Start by opening Teams.
  2. Click the Call button in the left tool bar.
  3. Type the number you want to call with your keyboard or the in-app keypad. (Always include the area code in front of the number.)
  4. Click Enter or the Call button.
  5. When you see the dialing icon appear, you've successfully made the call.
